We pray that the Youth of Faith are not just taught how to live a Christian life in Sunday school. We pray that our Youth will see it modeled all around them in the men and women that call Faith home.
What is a recent “big win”, project or breakthrough that inspired your team?
We have been inspired by the influx of Youth to our church. Our numbers have grown considerably over the past year, and it is inspiring us and challenging us to better serve these young members.
What is the most exciting goal on the horizon that your team is looking forward to tackling?
We are beginning Wednesday Night Bible study for Youth at Faith on September 9th. This includes food, worship, Bible study (for HS Youth) and Confirmation (for the 7th-8th grade Youth), and fellowship. We will also be highlighting some specific life skills throughout the year, so don’t be surprised if you are asked to prayerfully consider helping us with these fun sessions 😉
Who’s currently on the team and what unique perspective or background are you looking to add next?
Jason Walker is the head of the Youth board, with Liz Cain serving on the board, alongside two Youth members: Jonas Daugherty and Ryan Cain.
What’s one thing about your board’s work that people might be surprised to learn happens behind the scenes?
We work directly with the Youth to get their thoughts and ideas on what they enjoy, what they struggle with, and what they want to learn more about. The Youth help plan everything we do from activities, service projects, and Bible study topics. Additionally, the Youth serve the church in many ways behind the scenes–they are always willing to lend a hand, and do so joyfully.
Besides praying for your board, what’s one practical way our Faith Family can support your board’s mission?
One way the Faith Family can support the Youth is by being present. When young people in the church can literally see their community showing up, it supports them in their walk of Faith. So come to church. Come to Sunday school. Come to Wednesday night Bible studies. If you aren’t already serving in some capacity, reach out and ask how you can help! We pray that the Youth of Faith are not just taught how to live a Christian life in Sunday school. We pray that our Youth will see it modeled all around them in the men and women that call Faith home.
