State of the Parish

State of the Parish

3/20/2026

Dear Faith Families,

Yesterday (3/19) the church (quietly) celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph, Guardian of our Lord. On the Feast Day, we remember and commemorate the faithfulness of Jesus’ adoptive, earthly father, who did his duty to Mary and the child entrusted to his care, leading his household according to the call of God.

The Feast of St. Joseph reminds us to honor our fathers and our mothers; and it reminds us to faithfully discharge our own duties and lead our own households according to the call of God.

Last Sunday after worship, I shared a “State of the Parish” address. As the called leader of Faith, it’s my goal to always be open and even over-communicate, so that there are no secrets in our life together.  I believe this honors God and His calling for us and builds trust between you and the called and elected leadership of the congregation. It also promotes self-reflection and helps us honestly assess where we are so that we can focus on the matters that need the most attention in the months and years ahead.

As I said on Sunday, Christ our Lord does not permit us to look down on His bride, the Church. We must confess, that for the sake of Christ and Him alone, the state of the Church is good. Because Jesus has said so. He says, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

The state of the parish is good because Jesus, crucified and risen for us, is at the center of our life together. Yet there are many challenges and opportunities that are in front of us. And we must work together to address these matters.

I hope to see many of you tomorrow evening at the Taste of Faith School Auction. Come to celebrate and support the ministry of school!

God Bless you as we continue through the Season of Lent and prepare for the celebration of the Resurrection!
