Mr. William “Woody” Wood

Mr. William “Woody” Wood

Woody and his wife, Julie, met in Atlanta during college and have spent most of their adult lives in the area—including over 20 years in East Cobb raising their two children, Audrey and Oliver. After becoming empty nesters, they moved to the Canton area in search of a quieter pace of life, but their home congregation remains Faith Lutheran Church.

In 2020, Woody and Julie discovered Faith Lutheran and were immediately drawn to its welcoming community, rich history, and commitment to traditional Lutheran doctrine. They officially joined shortly thereafter. The core truth of the Reformation—that a sinner is justified by grace alone (sola gratia) through faith alone (sola fide) for the sake of Christ alone (solus Christus), as revealed in Scripture alone (sola Scriptura)—serves as the foundation of Woody’s personal faith and family life.

Serving on the Board of Elders is one of Woody’s greatest honors, and he considers it a true blessing to serve the congregation. Beyond his work with the Elders, he and Julie actively participate in small group ministry, and Woody regularly connects with the men’s ministry groups at Faith.
