What to Expect

What to Expect

what to expect when you visit

Each Sunday at Faith we gladly gather to receive the gifts of God in the Divine Service, where the “Divine One,” our Lord Jesus Christ, comes to serve us through the ancient liturgies of His church. In the Divine Service, Christ delivers to us His Holy Word and Sacraments. In these gifts there is life and salvation for all who receive them with faith. Worship services at Faith follow the traditional liturgy and hymnody of the Lutheran Church contained in the Lutheran Service Book.

Each part below is part of the Divine Service, where God in Christ comes to us to bless us with His gifts that we might have life in His name.

Confession and Absolution

In which we confess our sins and receive God’s gift of forgiveness

The Service of the Word

In which we sing, and hear the Word of God read and proclaimed to us

The service of the sacrament

In which our Lord Jesus feeds us His true Body and Blood (in, with, and under the bread and the wine) which are given and shed for us for the forgiveness of our sins.
